Q. How does this business work?Butter Braid dealers across the United States work with fundraising groups that have a need to raise funds for various purposes. Our independent Butter Braid dealers work with a variety of different groups including elementary schools, day cares, cheerleading squads, and numerous other groups. Dealers are responsible for managing all aspects of their business including sales, marketing, operations, finance, and delivery. Q. Can I make a living in this business and what will the time commitment be?The short answer to the first part of this question is yes. Most of our dealers operate their Butter Braid business full-time and have the ability to make a nice living. Full-time in this business may be different than what you are used to. You will work longer hours during key selling/delivery times of the year which typically follow the school year and utilize the slower times for family vacations and leisure time during school breaks. Q. What are you looking for in a Butter Braid dealer? We are looking for dealers who share our mission of "helping others help themselves." Outgoing and enthusiastic folks who love working with people and who provide excellent service to others with winning attitudes can do extremely well! We are also seeking individuals who will be active participants in partnering with Country Maid’s various learning opportunities such as Butter Braid University, our Annual Dealer Conference, and the mentoring of other dealers. Strong candidates should be able to meet our financial requirements, have a track record of success, and demonstrate a strong moral and ethical background. Q. If I fill out and submit the "Get Started Survey", does it commit me to anything? Not at all. This is simply a way for us to find out a little bit about you. Your information will be kept confidential and will not be shared with anyone outside of Country Maid, Inc. Q. How long does the application process take?Typically, it takes around 60-90 days to complete the process after we receive your application. This allows enough time for you to review the Butter Braid dealership report, visit with some existing Butter Braid dealers, and complete the on-site interview. This time period may vary depending on how quickly information is provided to us, your location and other circumstances. Q. Approximately how much will it cost to start up a Butter Braid dealership? It is hard for us to tell you exactly how much investment funds will be needed as each circumstance varies, and, because you are an independent business owner, the costs are largely up to you. However, our costs are significantly less than that of a franchise since we are not a franchising entity. We do not charge any up front fees, require royalty payments, or strap you down with strict guidelines. More information regarding costs will be made available as you pursue the dealership further. Q. What kind of startup assistance and ongoing support does Country Maid provide? After you have signed your dealership agreement, you will work closely with your account manager who will be available to help you step-by-step and answer any questions. A business plan will be drawn up specifically for you, and a territory mapped out so that you can become familiar with your specific area. Your account manager will also travel to your location for a kickoff visit. During the kickoff visit they will assist you in finishing up business setup details and provide you with some initial training. Next will be one week of Butter Braid University (BBU) training which is held at Country Maid, Inc. in West Bend, IA. While at BBU, you will take a tour of our facilities, get to know our staff, and receive formal detailed training. Of course we won't leave you hanging after this - we will provide you with constant guidance as you need it such as our BBU phone conferences, our BBU higher level training courses, FR Pilot software, our Annual Butter Braid Dealer Conference, your own Web Site, standard Marketing Materials, etc. The only way we become successful is to ensure that you are successful, so your Country Maid staff is always here to help! Q. How much money can I make? This is definitely a question in which we hope you'll consider. However, because every territory and dealership owner is different, there is no definite answer. We can provide you with information on how our existing dealerships have done in the past confidentially through our Butter Braid Dealership Report. This information is based off of existing dealerships and will vary depending on your territory and commitment level. Q. When can I review the Butter Braid Dealership Report? After we review your application and conduct your initial phone screen/interview, we'll provide our Butter Braid Dealership Report to all qualified candidates. We can send it through e-mail or standard mail. Q. How will I know if my area is available? Our goal is to offer you an area that doesn't overlap with any other dealer to foster a friendly dealer relationship instead of a competitive one. Our territory definitions are very unique and allow you to keep the territory for the life of your business provided that your performance and dedication remain strong. If you are curious as to whether or not your location is covered by a dealer, feel free to use the find-a-dealer feature on our website. Type in your zip code to see what dealer, if any, will pull up after hitting the submit button. If no name or contact information come up, then your location is most likely available. If a name or contact information is there, then your location may already be covered. Keep in mind that there are times we may open up an existing territory to a new candidate, so if you are really interested in this opportunity, please pursue further and we can provide you with details to give you a clearer picture of things. If your area would indeed be covered by a strong and dedicated dealer, we will file your information and let you know if that territory happens to open up. Q. Does Country Maid offer health insurance to dealers? Not at this time. Our Butter Braid dealers are not employees, they are independently owned and operated businesses. In any event, our research has shown that the rates we would receive are no different than that of what independent dealers are paying for policies themselves. Since there would be no cost savings, we made the decision to leave it up to each dealer to determine what their individual health insurance needs are so that they are able to get the coverage that is suitable for them. |
