Strawberry French Toast

Ingredients

  • 1 baked and cooled strawberry & cream cheese Butter Braid pastry. Slice like loaf of bread (1/2”)

Egg Mixture:

  • 5 large eggs
  • 1 Tbsp. vanilla
  • 2 Tbsp. sugar
  • 2 tsp cinnamon
  • 3 Tbsp. melted butter

Sauce:

  • 1 Tbsp. ½ and ½ (or milk)
  • 23 oz frozen sliced sweetened strawberries
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 Tbsp. corn starch
  • ½ cup sugar
  • Unthaw strawberries – drain syrup in sauce pan – add 1 Tbsp. corn starch – cook until thick – add strawberries and ½ tsp vanilla – serve over warm bread

Step-by-step directions

  1. Heat griddle to 325-350 degrees
  2. Drizzle with oil and 2 Tbsp. butter
  3. Dip bread into egg mixture
  4. Fry until golden brown
  5. Brush top of bread before turning
  6. Remove to platter and dust with powdered sugar
  7. Spoon strawberry sauce over bread
