Ingredients

  • 1 Four Cheese and Herb Butter Braid® Pastry
  • Garlic salt
  • Italian seasoning
  • Parmesan cheese
  • Mozzarella cheese
  • Pepperoni slices

Step-By-Step Directions

  1. The night before baking, remove the Four Cheese and Herb Pastry from the packaging and set it out to rise according to the package directions. Place the included marinara sauce packet in the refrigerator for later.
  2. Sprinkle some flour onto a clean surface to prevent your pastry from sticking.
  3. Place the thawed pastry on the floured surface and roll it out until it’s thin and evenly spread.
  4. Evenly sprinkle garlic salt, Italian seasoning, Parmesan cheese, and mozzarella cheese over the entire surface of the pastry. Leave some space around the edges.
  5. Arrange pepperoni slices over the seasoned pastry, covering the entire surface.
  6. Starting from one edge, tightly roll the pastry into a log shape. Then, using a sharp knife, slice the log into 12 even pieces.
  7. Grease a muffin tin and place each pinwheel slice into a muffin cup with the spiral side facing up.
  8. Preheat your oven to 350°F. Bake the pinwheels for about 15 minutes, or until they are golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  9. Allow the Four Cheese Pepperoni Pinwheels to cool slightly before removing them from the muffin tin. Serve warm and enjoy!

Tips for Making Four Cheese Pepperoni Pinwheels

  • If you’d like to serve your pinwheels with a dipping sauce, this is where you can use that marinara packet you put aside earlier. Simply remove the marina sauce packet from the refrigerator. Then, cut open the packet and pour the sauce contents into a microwave-safe bowl. Heat in the microwave on high for 15-20 seconds, or to desired temperature.
  • When you’re ready to cut your pastry log into individual pinwheels, we recommend using a serrate knife or very sharp pizza cutter. A standard kitchen knife tends to compress the dough rather than cut through it.
  • When sprinkling on your cheeses and seasonings, it is important to leave space around the edges of your dough. We recommend leaving extra space on the top long edge, about 1”, as you can use it to seal your rolled up dough. The toppings will naturally push forward as you roll the dough up, so this also helps you fit all your toppings in.
  • Store leftover Four Cheese Pepperoni Pinwheels in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
